One night I was trolling Instagram and stumbled upon an image from Pharrell Williams (yes him) and his simple outfit spoke volumes to me. I instantly added the pic to my evernote “images that inspire” journal and knew I had to recreate it. I was meeting some Baltimore fashion mavens (yes charm city DOES have style) and needed a comfortable outfit that still told the Jennifer Jean-Pierre story. Denim, pointed pumps, black and a hat always wins!
I have such a thing for a diva type pose. Even though I try to not “pose” too much, you almost cannot help it sometimes when you are standing in front of your dSLR.
My new Noonday Collection necklaces were the perfect accessory for this simply chic outfit. More details on these and more from their new line tomorrow on the blog.

I was not in focus in this shot but with some grungy photo processing, I kinda liked it. Its not typical but it speaks to me. |
Side note though, Baltimore Mag did a recent Style Issue and I was so excited to pick it up. It was not the absolute best but it is a good start. I am hoping to do what I can to bring more positive exposure to Baltimore (fashion scene) and Baltimore fashion bloggers. The Baltimore Sun has a section called “Glimpsed” written by Sloane Brown and for those who follow me on twitter you already know how I feel about it. Snooze ville-. come on Charm City, we can do so much better! Time to change the fashion scene in this metropolis like us bloggers did for DC!!!!
Getting photographed by someone else has its advantages but there is nothing like a good self portrait to make me happy. I love playing around with my camera and seeing what I come up with.
