Blogger Essential: Canon T2i Video Star

Hey all aka Dear Canon,
Photography is a HUGE part of a quality blog and while most bloggers have dedicated photographers to snap their outfit posts, I use anyone who is willing to snap away and I also trust my very handy tripod. On February of 2011 is when I purchased my Canon XSi and when I feel my blog really started. Before then I just did a post every 6 months with no real substance. The more and more I blog the deeper my passion for photography grows. I spend SO much time learning about lenses, flash lighting and shooting techniques that its obvious that this art form is something I would love to master. I not only shoot my outfit posts and fashion events but I also am the photographer for a national championship winning men’s flag football team and I adore the moments I am able to capture of every game. Photography is everything to me. If you follow me on twitter you know that I am constantly tweeting about the Canon T2i and how badly I want this wonderful piece of machinery. My XSi is beyond amazing and its VERY true that it really doesn’t matter what camera you use because its completely up to the photographer to create a beautiful image. Unless you are printing out most of your pictures, you really do not need anything more than 12 mega pixels which my XSi has.  You may ask….Why oh why am I lusting over the Canon T2i so badly then– one word VIDEO
This lil blogger desperately wants to start adding more video content to Comme Coco. I have always wanted to host a TV show or have a job interviewing others so I figure the blog is a great way to start this but alas my current Dslr is not equipped to help me in this endeavor. As the Director of Outreach for CapFabb, a blogger group here in DC boasting over 400 members, I would love to start doing video interviews with local bloggers. It would be a great way to get the fashion world to learn about our fabulous fashion metropolis thru the eyes of my fellow bloggers. I also would love to start a little video series called “Purse-onal Confessions” where I hit up some public hot spots here in DC and Baltimore and ask stylish ladies and lads on the street about what is currently in their purse/murses and ask them to answer the question of the day or speak on a fashion topic. Last but not least, NYFW would be even better if I could shoot some video for those who are unable to attend and offer them the opportunity to be at Lincoln Center with me. I would love to make fashion and blogging a little more interactive with this and do what I love best and that is mingling with other fashion lovers!
Blogging is more than just putting a bunch of pics of myself on Comme Coco. I really hope that my images can help tell a story of the girl behind the clothes and I truly hope that some day soon, I can get my grubby little hands on the Canon T2i…. until then I will continue to tweet about it and read review after review and review on it and pray to the Technology Fairy!

How important are quality pictures to your blog????
Check out some great reviews on this fabulous digital camera

Quality pictures are very important to me that’s why I try to so outside shoots as much as I can right now. I use a cheap point and shoot camera but I’d die to have a Canon

I hear ya. You can do great things with a poit and shoot. Outdoor is the best way to go. Use flash off outside and it will give you a nice soft look. Use a tripod if you have no one to take them for you. Learn all the settings. My canon point and shoot has almost the same settings as my regular. Learn about aperture and focal points an you will be good to go!!!

I finally took the plunge ($600 one at that!) & got a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. It’s the best decision I’ve made for my blog. I feel like my pictures give more life to my posts. I too have now become interested in photography. I sold my old point & shoot and haven’t looked back once!
