The minute I saw this blue collar necklace, I knew I needed to have it. Ever see those State Farm commercials where she holds up her credit card looking at the couch and states “I had to have it”. Well that was me with this necklace.
It was after I was done styling and managing models backstage at the Shawn Yancy Girls Night Out event and I wanted to enjoy the vendors and yummy food. I was grabbing some kisses (hersheys kisses) from the dessert table when I saw this masterpiece of a blue collar. I asked the lady if I could try it on and I was hooked. I have wanted something like it for years but could never find one in my price range until that day.
With everything I buy, I always think about how I am going to style it. I could have easily stuck with a African Queen type theme but I just did not want to be typical. I instantly thought of simple white t and jeans with some great shoes and I think that I accomplished my vision.
The other night (well yesterday), J and I had the responsibility of taking his daughter to soccer practice which was across from Union Market. Union Market is the mecca for awesome shoot locations in DC so I quickly grabbed this outfit and went with it.
Luckily whenever I have an outfit idea, I keep it in a list on my Evernote app on my phone. So in times when I need to get dressed quickly or need to shoot something quickly, I can pull it up and draw inspiration. I also keep an album on my iPhone with all sorts of outfit inspiration that I have compiled throughout the years and let us not talk about Pinterest and the folder of magazine tear outs that I own.
Fashion is life and Style is the air I breathe. I even watch shows solely because of the clothes. Sometimes I find myself not even paying attention to the dialogue within the show but instead staring at the clothes. The way they move. How they are styled etc….
Currently my fave “style” shows are Younger and The Bold Type. If you are like me, I highly suggest checking them out!

Love the matching blue polish! Just enough pop.

I Like how you made the necklace pop against your white top. It is definitely a statement piece!
