Capital City Mambo Sauce Summer Chicken

There is nothing I love more in the summer than a good old piece of BBQ chicken. But like everything in my life, I always like to change things up a bit and recently I saw that Capital City Mambo Sauce was available for delivery on Amazon so I immediately thought of my favorite chicken with a DC kick. 

What’s the DC kick you ask?

When I first moved to DC and went to a carry-out restaurant for chicken, I was handed this container with a reddish-colored sauce. I had no clue what it was so I just pretended and accepted it. No part of me wanted to scream newbie, so I waited until I got home to try it. After dipping my chicken and fries in it, I took to the internet to find out what it was and my life has been changed since. 

Now I am so excited that I don’t have to go to a local DC establishment to get some since Capital City Mambo sauce is now delivered via Amazon Fresh!

For this particular meal, J swapped regular old BBQ sauce for the mambo sauce after baking the chicken, and boom Capital City Mambo Chicken was born. He used fresh herbs (yes, from Amazon Fresh) to season the chicken and we got unsalted butter to lightly pan fry the fresh vegetables (asparagus and mushrooms).

Mealtime is one of our times of bonding. Jermaine and I lead very busy lives with mile-long daily task lists and grocery shopping is often so far down that list. Being able to get groceries delivered always helps us feel just a little better about all the other tasks left to do.
