Capital One Auto Navigator

My age says that I am an adult but there are certain situations that come up that have me running to my parents for help. More often than not, those situations involve my car and anything car related. My dad recently passed away and besides the emotional turmoil and grief that comes with it, I also feel lost without my “car guy”.

At the tender age of 16, my dad bought me my first car. It was a navy blue sedan and I instantly thought- “EEK, this is an old person’s car”. Attending a high school with the wealthiest of the wealthy, that car seemed ancient but I grew to really love it and looking back, am ashamed that I was so spoiled in my thinking. Eventually that car started to die and my dad blessed me with a sleek all black small SUV that I absolutely ADORED! Fast forward to 2012 and my dad was sending me his champagne colored big body SUV  so that I could have a car in DC. Well, I’m in DC and fast forward to 2016 and my beloved truck is on its last leg. So what does that mean…. it will have to be replaced and I don’t have my Daddy to take the reins and bless me with a new mode of transportation! Yikes- Im on my own with this one!

While it’s not as awesome as my Dad taking care of it for me, Capital One’s Auto Navigator online system is pretty darn close to being as tremendous as he is was. (Man it is so hard to grasp the reality that my father is no longer here with us. Oh- but I digress.) Because of this system, I do not feel quite as alone in this car purchasing and financing situation!

Auto financing scares me. Especially as a woman. You always hear horror stories so I knew I needed to be prepared. The Capital One Auto Navigator site seemed to be the best way to take the stress out of not only shopping for a new car but getting financing for that new car. I went to the site HERE, and first was pretty happy at the efficiency and simplicity of the page layout. I clicked “get Started” and got started answering basic questions about myself and what I was in market to purchase. Then I got pre-qualified without the risk of it affecting my credit score. Once that boring but important stuff was out of the way, shopping commences. I could browse over 12,000 dealerships for cars from my home computer or even through my cell phone while commuting to work on the metro. While I still have not picked out a car yet, Im truly appreciative of Capital One for this Auto Navigator site because once I do choose a car, I can go to the dealership with a financing certificate and a head full of knowledge gained from using the site.

I still miss my Dad though and I still very much wish he was the one taking care of this for me. But- Capital one Auto Navigator is easily the next best thing!

Check out the site HERE and please let me know if you find it as simple and painless as I did!
