My readers and supporters are everything to me. The money from blogging is great, expressing myself is great but nothing comes close to interacting, inspiring and hearing from readers of Comme Coco. So when Entertainment Cruises reached out to me about partnering on an event, I immediately thought to host something for my readers and supporters. That thought got a name- Cruising with Comme Coco and it all came to fruition on September 24th aboard the Odyssey!
Entertainment Cruises is the nation’s largest dining and sightseeing cruise company with a fleet of 30 ships in cities that include: Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, National Harbor, MD, Norfolk, VA, Philadelphia, New York, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Boca Raton, Palm Beach and Washington DC. They have super sleek and modern ships like the Odyssey that I had my event on and more young and fun ones like the Spirit. Regardless of your event, they have a boat to suit your needs. I almost hate calling them boats because these bad-boys are full out experiences on the water!
[aesop_content color=”#000000″ background=”#ffffff” columns=”2″ position=”none” imgrepeat=”no-repeat” floaterposition=”left” floaterdirection=”up”]Because I was supposed to be flying out for Paris to cover Paris Fashion Week the next morning, I chose to have a brunch on the Odyssey instead of dinner and boy am I ever so happy I did. The food was spectacular with such a huge variety! My guests enjoyed perfectly seasoned meats such as salmon, steak and chicken along with their waffles, pancakes and various other breakfast carbs. And duh, there were typical american style breakfast meats as well! The Odyssey brunch is a buffet style but please get your ideas of food just sitting out under warmer lights out of your head! Not one item looked dried out and everything came out fresh and was replenished with a quickness the minute it looked less than appetizing. I really have to commend the wait staff and cooks on the Odyssey but more on them later! I absolutely adore hosting and I can confidently say: I am kinda awesome at it! Because this was an event for my readers and supporters, I did not personally know all the attendees but each and everyone has assisted in my success in one form or another. This was my way of saying THANK YOU! While hosting, I did not get to eat as much as I wanted to because I was taking pictures, mingling, giving speeches or dancing (you’ll see in the video) but all my guests RAVED about the food and what I did take quick bites of was scrumptious! While I did not get a chance to devour my food like I tend to do, I did imbibe on many-a cocktail! I started with the bottomless mimosas that come with the brunch but since I am not a fan of orange juice, I was brought grapefruit and champagne by our lovely server. As I sit here writing this, I cannot remember her name, but she is hands down the best waitress I have ever had the pleasure of dining with. This lady had the most welcoming of smiles, was meticulous in her order taking and even went above and beyond and brought out a cake for one of my guests who was celebrating his birthday. Well who am I kidding? We loved her even more for the continuous flow of Patron shots she happily brought to us!
Once we stopped eating and drinking our group meandered over to our private deck area and enjoyed the gorgeous DC weather and acted as tourists in our own city by looking at the monuments we passed by. But…..I shall not tell a lie. We also had a million mini photo shoots on that deck as well and I decided to do yet ANOTHER toast with more shots! Clearly ,Cruisin with Comme Coco turned into a booze cruise and I and Im sure my guests are NOT complaining one bit!
Man we just had a fantastic time! I remember taking a seat and just observing all the new friendships being made and the networking going on. I absolutely love bringing people together and I have to say, I have a real knack for having such a diverse guest list of people.
Photo shoots got old and the music got louder which meant we had to dance! Between the Wobble, the Cupid Shuffle and classic Electric Slide, the girls and I had no problem burning off some calories on the dance floor. The live band played all the hits and the dance floor was packed with happy people young and vintage! Entertainment Cruises is a definite party!
Cruising with Comme Coco was a true success and I cannot thank the staff at Entertainment Cruises enough for all their help! If you are in DC or the cities I mentioned earlier and are looking for a fun date idea, corporate event or just a night out with your peeps, I strongly suggest checking out one of the ships.
Now enough of all this chatter….. pictures and this video are worth 1000 words!
