DCity Smokehouse

I am a Haitian born girl who was raised in the Midwest but am absolutely in love with all things country. From the music to the food especially BBQ. I’ll have it dry rubbed in Texas. Slathered in a peppery-vinegar sauce in the Carolinas and oozing with that good old Tomato based glaze in Kansas. This gal loves her smoked meat and my tastebuds met their match last night at the DCity Smokehouse VIP Tasting Event.

I want to first apologize for the lack of food pictures.

I. Was. Eating. and Enjoying and had dirty fingers. I really did not have the time to keep wiping in order to press the shutter of my camera. It just was not going to happen. But in full disclosure, I look back and feel as if I didn’t allow my beloved plus one to thoroughly enjoy. For that…. I owe him a trip back to DCity Smokehouse for a night of more food, delicious Percy dipping sauce, the most perfectly roasted brussels and libations.

Oh the glorious libations. Those bartenders have perfected the art of mixology. Even taking it as far as burning certain herbs and basically “snuffing” it in the glass to offer a delicious smoky flavor to even the drinks.

I originally wanted to wear a silky navy robe over a white tank body suit and slim jeans but the temperature would not let that outfit reign. Instead I opted for a Claire Sulmers x Tees In the Trap Hustle sweatshirt, thrifted button down denim midi skirt and ShoeDazzle black cut out ankle booties. I really loved this outfit and felt very much like myself. And your outfit choices should ALWAYS allow you to feel like yourself otherwise, WHY-WEAR-IT?!?!?!?

But I digress. We are not going to delve too deep into my inhale fashion, exhale style speech. We shall save that for later. For now… enjoy the pictures and thank you for spending the time on my little home on the internet.
