Hey all-
I wore this outfit a few weeks ago when I attended the Red Sprinkle fundraising event at the Walish Gooshe boutique near Silver Spring. In case you have not heard of it yet, Red Sprinkle started a Fashion Camp to educate and spark the interest of young children in the fashion industry. I am even more geeked about this camp because my friend and fellow amazing blogger Naja of NajaDiamond has been asked to speak at it! How awesome is that?!!? Boy do I wish I had that growing up. I have always loved fashion but I never thought it was a “proper” major or career and I sure was wrong! Its all I strive for now (well that and a hubby, 2 kids, 1.5 dogs and a beautiful home in Columbia, MD)! I purchased this skirt at Zara last summer and its still one of my favorites! I love the draping in the front and how it accentuates my curves while hitting the perfect length right above my knees. Skirts are tricky for me because I do have very athletic calves and non demure ankles! With this body shape, I need skirts that are a few inches above my knee, right AT my knee or completely below my calves… anything in between cuts my calves in half and makes them appear to be wider that they really are. Regardless, here is my outfit. Its basic and that is what I love! I have decided in September for New York Fashion Week, I am going to stick to simple silhouettes with super accented accessories such as earrings from UniqueLee-Yours and Crux NY!
hope my mommy likes this one better 🙂 |

Great look! The skirt length is perfect. Nice shoes! Try less jewelery. Less is better. You are not Opal in All my children Lol!
I think that this is well put together…jewelry and all! It’s about how she wants to express herself not the way that anyone else expects it to look! *round of applause*

First off buns are my favorite hairstyle for women whether relaxed or natural. As far as feeling fashion wasn’t a proper major I know exactly what you mean. I chose to attend Florida State University for their Fashion Merchandising program but because of outside influencers I changed my major to Marketing. Now I teach high school math and blog in my spare time. Sighs. However, I’m only 25 and feel that it’s still not too late to achieve my original dreams.
Love the skirt
thank you Yaya!!!
