Eloquii in Los Angeles

Remember when I was commissioned to take photographs at the Eloquii store opening a few months ago? Well, I have kinda been hooked on the brand since but unfortunately cannot really fit most of the clothing. But I still try lol. Luckily this fantastic off the shoulder top from them was perfect for a recent trip to Los Angeles with my bff Monroe of Fashion Steele NYC!

I have always been a fan of the off the shoulder silhouette. Even though I am fairly broad shouldered, its a sexy look to me without being too revealing. See, manman, Im trying!

If you follow me on instagram, then you saw some of the epic photos that were created in California. Monroe and I definitely work magic together and our bond was deepened on this trip. I did not think it was possible, but it did. If you have not seen our photos- then get your fingers to do the typing straight to hers and my instagram and marvel at our dopeness. HAHAH. Humble not so much today.

Let’s chat about humility for a second.

I believe I am a humble person but I also know when I have created some epic content. I know when my efforts just kick butt. Does not mean I am narcissistic or full of myself- just means I can recognize great work. As women we rarely acknowledge when we are awesome. We congratulate and recognize it in others but why not ourselves. I am doing my best to do it a little more. I am still very insecure about certain things. Like my photography. I am such a perfectionist with it that I am never truly happy. But I am trying to through those fears and doubts out the fricken window and instead revel in the art I am making. Tack sharp photos or not.

I hope that we as women stop the negativity and downplaying ourselves and instead be ok saying “I really did well on this”. Once we start doing that, our confidence will soar. Because if you think about it. We are always last to ask for a raise. We are terrified even though we may be kicking ass and taking names. If we are not our biggest cheerleaders than who will? Definitely not most men. Why? Cause they are too busy being their own PR agents! (duh)

But I digress-

Speaking of photos. These were captured outside of the Line Hotel in LA, our home away from home before brunch one morning. These wide leg jeans have been with me since 2011. I love them but they are entering camel toe creation territory. These bad boys are TIGHT! Check out how they used to fit HERE. But anyway- I am not letting them go. I will just have to alter my body around them lol. Fashion over comfort? sighhhhhhhh

Jenni, you are so beautiful and you give so much support to women and girls who do not have the perfect size (according to societies norms) body! You help them rejoice in the beauty that is theirs and give them ways to enhance it!!! You are a precious (and strong) gift to us all!!! Carry on, sweet girl!!)

I wonder where we got the idea to downplay ourselves all the time. I do it so much, and I really want to break the habit of denying myself that confidence. Also, this top is so fun. I still want one for myself. These pictures look amazing too.
