Hey all-
The week is almost over.. YAY! Boy did I have a super, duper tough work week for the 9-5 and then running out to events but I am dedicated to this endeavor as well as my promise to keep you all informed on the happenings in DC so here I am with another great event recap for you. I had the pleasure of being invited to Andrea of Fly Girl Blog’s 5th Anniversary Party at Anthropologie. Of course I got there pretty early because I guess I dont understand the concept of “fashionably late” anymore and was greeted with the most darling of buttons with the Fly logo on it. The lady checking the list then directed me towards the back of the store where the treats and goodies were. The goodies WOW! Of all the events I have attended in MY LIFE, the brownies and sandwich cookies at this shindig were HANDS DOWN the absolute yummiest, decaden,t and sinfully delish of ANY desserts I have had. I was told by another guest that the cupcakes were the best she has ever had and I looked at her with the “c’mon son” face but one bite and I was on my knees APOLOGIZING for thinking she was making it up. OMG….. I have a new fave cupcake spot! Philly here I come and Brown Betty, I am forever a customer now!
The attendees at this event also had some of the best style I have seen to date in DC. No one looked the same… you didnt see the typical outfits or the regular DC Fashion folk.. this was fresh and exciting and now am on a mission to diversify my event portfolio!
I was very pleased to see Andrea of Fly Girl Blog and learn a little more on her mission and goals with the blog. Everyone who attended had been a follower for years and had nothing but rave reviews for her and I instantly saw why. She truly is an angel and stylish one at that. Her website states that: Andrea started Fly as a daily resource to inspire young women to pursue their creative passions. Through video, text, and image Fly reaches thousands of readers around the world. For the site Andrea writes and produces original posts and webisodes showcasing new talent in art and fashion. Because of her expertise in spotting and showcasing trends and influencing audiences, major brands like Vogue Italia’s Black Vogue and Gap have sought her talents for cross-collaboration. This event felt so much like a family gathering and ended with a heart felt thank you speech by Andrea. True professional and I’m now a loyal reader through and through!
I think she nailed it because her blog is ALL that and MORE! Congratulations Andrea and I wish you 30+ more years!
