For the love of Tim McGraw and DIY shirts

I love country music. Yup, there I said it. Randy Travis’ “Forever and Ever, Amen” sparked my love of this music genre but Tim McGraw kept me there. So this post is an ode to him…

Let’s be clear, I love all music. There really isn’t a single type of music that I haven’t found something I can vibe to. But to my husband’s dismay, I am not a fan of slow r&b. Like Maxwell and company. It just doesn’t speak to me at all. I remember my boyfriend in college was obsessed with Brian McKnight and at that time my insecurity was at an all-time high so I would attempt to enjoy it. Ooh wee, some of those car rides were just way too long for me because of Brian McKnight listening sessions. To be honest, I did like a few songs that had a faster beat but the slow slow joints were painful.

This is probably why I would make so many CDs and only add one or two slow jams so that everyone could be happy.

Fast forward twenty years later and I still am not a fan of slow songs, even most of Tim McGraw’s slow songs. But let’s chat about the songs I love oh-so much:

  • Indian Outlaw
  • Real Good Man
  • My Best Friend
  • Shotgun Rider
  • Truck Yeah

But enough about music. Let’s chat about this outfit and how these pictures came to be. Today, we were going to eat brunch after church and as we passed by a closed down Lone Star restaurant, I knew I wanted to snap pictures there. I mean Lone Star is a total cowboy vibe and my DIY distressed Tim McGraw shirt needed to be photographed there. So we hopped out of the car, opened the back door so Teagan could watch, and took 5 minutes to create some magic.

I love these photos so much!

I also love what I did with this graphic t-shirt. The back story on that…

We passed by a teeny bopper store and I saw a shirt with a lace-up detail and loved it. But it was a bit expensive and a little too much boobage showing for me so I mentally remembered it and then decided to test it out myself. A few hours before we left for Virginia Beach, I busted out my scissors and made it happen. No sewing, just cutting.

And I love it so much!

If you’re interested in how I DIY my Tim McGraw shirt, please let me know in the comments below and I will make a Youtube video. Oh, and speaking of Youtube…. I have been uploading new videos so please take the time to subscribe and watch a few pretty, please. I am trying to get to monetization and I’m WAY behind on watch hours lol.

Last but not least– these jeans. Oh, these jeans. I have two of them because I wear them so much and I want to make sure I always have a pair fresh. No joke RevTown makes the best jeans from my body frame. I own the straight ones, skinny, and even the shorts and I am OBSESSED! Check them out for the Fall and you will NOT be disappointed!

Yes Jen! Loving this impromptu photo session pics! Great eye for the location being a great backdrop for your look. Not the biggest fan of country but I do like some songs. I mostly know Tim McGraw because he’s married to Faith Hill. Would love to see a video of your diy. These RevTown styles look so good on you!… @applemacg
