Girls’ Night Out Style: What I Wore, Where We Went, and Why It Mattered

Well, Hi — I Actually Left the House The other Night

You know those nights where you tell yourself, “Next weekend, I’m getting dressed up and going out,” and then suddenly it’s three weekends later and your robe is your uniform? Yeah. Sameeee.

But last night, I actually did it. I got dressed, met up with my girls, and had a real-life night out. Originally the plan was to just go to the Never Fully Dressed event happening at International Plaza Mall (yay a fashion event here in Tampa!) but my girls said pull up for drinks and appetizers before the event. It was an immediate yes!

Let’s Talk About the Outfit (Because Obviously)

I always say confidence starts in your closet. So when I finally decided to leave the house, I went for something that felt like me… you know effortless but still put together. My version of a tee and jeans. Except a dramatic top and architectural jeans. Cause my personality has to shine through in my clothes and I want to show you how to do the same with every blog post.

I wore a peplum African print top from GrassFields with my hands down FAVORITE horseshoe jeans, finished with assymetrical heels (similar option) option 2, and threw on my fun striped clutch because a cute bag makes every outfit feel intentional.

It was giving “I have things to do and I look good doing them.”

Style tip: Choose one piece that makes you feel unstoppable. It doesn’t have to be fancy — just something that makes you walk a little taller.

Why Getting Out of the House Is Basically Therapy

Between work, kids, and the ever-growing mental load that comes with adulting, it’s so easy to convince yourself that staying in is “self-care.” And many times it really is but baby sometimes you gotta GET OUT!

It is so important to get out of your routine and just enjoy yourself as a woman. Not a mom. Not a wife. Not a worker bee. Not a boss babe. But the beautiful woman you are.

Last night wasn’t about the restaurant (Ocean Prime was damn good though) or the cocktails (though, 10/10 cocktails). It was about the reminder that I’m allowed to have fun. I’m allowed to laugh too loud. I’m allowed to exist outside of the daily checklist. Even if my to do list is always on my mind. And heck, I am sure on yours too.

Your Sign to Romanticize a Night Out

If you’ve been living on autopilot, this is your gentle nudge (or loud “girlllll) to get dressed and go somewhere — anywhere. Dinner with friends, a solo drink, a quick mall run in your good jeans.

You deserve to see yourself outside your four walls. You should feel good just because.

Oh and the fragrance that had numerous folks telling me I smelled good: smell good AF mixed with the oldie but goodie and a perfect finisher.
