The other day I got into such a heated debate with my cousin about the importance of high waist jeans in every woman’s wardrobe. He hates them. He prefers everything low rise. He calls them the dreaded “mom jeans’. So throughout the rest of that evening, he proceeded to ask the other males which they preferred. Can you guess what the rest of the lesser gender said?
There are certain style elements in life that just make it all worth while. Ok, so I am being oh so dramatic. Let me rephrase-There are certain articles of clothing that make my little heart sing! Leather jackets, wide leg pants, pointy toe pumps, thigh high boots, plaid anything and of course full skirts. Let us add high waist jeans to that.
Contrary to what my beloved cousin thinks, high waist jeans can and are sexy! They accentuate the curve from the waist to the hip in such a fantastic way. Low rise jeans just aren’t practical. Low rise jeans just are “too easy”.
There are soooo many benefits to these suckers. If you have an ample tummy like I currently have, the higher rise helps tuck it all in. You can bend over without showing the whole world your derriere decolletage. They are more office appropriate and make your hips look amazing when you tuck a shirt in. And well- I just love them!
While doing some minimal shopping on Black Friday in Michigan, I found these high waist jeans at Gap. If you missed my previous posts, I am kinda in love with Gap jeans. They hold their shape. They work with my ample thighs. They are stylish…. shall I go on?
My first intention was to rock these jeans with these new ShoeDazzle booties but because of the cooler temps, I decided to go with Thigh High boots from the same brand. oops- I mean “OTK boots”.
The outfit looked way better with just my leather jacket but the way the winter chill was set up, I had to double it up. Added a London Fog trench to the mix and it was an easy outfit to run errands on Sunday.
Trench: London Fog | Shirt: Previously Worn | Jeans: GAP | Boots: ShoeDazzle | Leather Jacket: H&M| Necklace: gift from ChicVilleUSA
I like the look! Perhaps not all high waisted jeans are created equal…hmmm π
High Waisted are the best and great find at the Gap on those! ππΎ
Love, love, love! Especially those boots. High waist jeans are my favorite. Hands down. I know guys who like them, but even if they hated them, I’d still wear em.
