Iphone Photography

The day that I text my dad and saw it turn blue was the day I came to the realization that everyone has a smartphone. My tech unsavvy (bless his heart) father went from a very antiquated flip phone to an iphone and I nearly died. It was nearly as bad as the moment I received my first text message from my mom. Now that was a blessing and a curse (heehee). We live on our smart phones and can pretty much do any and everything on them. Besides social media, I spend a great deal amount of time taking pictures with mine and also editing. I am constantly on the lookout for new photo editing apps. I have tested out SO many but my go-tos are VSCO, Tadaa SLR, Line Beauty and InstaSize. I can pretty much do any type of enhancing or post processing utilizing these and am almost always happy with the end results. Here are some pics that I have recently shot (well last 2 months) and edited using one of the above. Enjoy!!!

VSCO: I use for all editing from filters to sharpening and skin tone adjustment. This is my absolute go to app and I love going through the grid and seeing what other people are shooting and how they are editing. So much inspiration! I have noticed I use its camera function as well far more than the regular iphone camera. I choose the Vsco app because of the white balance capabilities and the focus and exposure functions. I feel as if its a little better than the iPhone camera.

Tadaa SLR: I strictly use this to add bokeh (background blur) to certain shots. Since there is no real depth of field manipulation with an iphone, I have to do this in post processing and this app is the only I use for this! You can create a mask and then choose whatever aperture you would like. This creates either a subtle background blur or something that you would see using f1.4. Even though I rarely go that low. I think f2.0 gives the best look because then my image is still pretty tack sharp.

Line Camera: This is my portraits only app. I use the Beauty function to make portraits look better by softening the skin and erasing blemishes. I rarely use the blemish function but I love the brightening and smoothing aspect of it. Before the internet thugs come out, I am not a heavy photoshopper… I believe in showing exactly what you have but we all can use a little help especially those of us who always have streaky makeup! Yes I am raising my hand because that is me!

Insta-Size: I use this to fit a whole picture in Instagram. Thats it!

VSCO is my go-to photo app, as well. Love that thing to pieces. Recently, I became a member so now I have a public gallery of some of my *ahem* best work. I ain’t no photographer but I definitely enjoy looking at great pictures.

    Thanks for the list!
