Growing up in Michigan, winter was not a season but a way of life. Our cold months started sometimes as early as late September and lasted until May. If you wanted to be stylish, you learned the fine art of layering quickly. I have lived in various states and even though the cold months are brutal in the Mitten State, it will always be my absolute favorite place to reside. While walking to work this morning from the DuPont metro station, I realized just how much the temperatures have dropped and my clothing choices had not adjusted to the weather. I mean its time to wear socks. I cannot get away with loafers and ankle skimming pants as cute as it is. My walk prompted me to think about my closet and its lack of cold weather essentials. I own 4 sweaters and 3 winter type slacks. I have a million jackets and coats but all of them of the boxy variety. I live in opaque tights because for some reason I choose the winter time to want to wear skirts but in the summer Im in loose pants. I knew I was backwards but did not realize just how much till now. I decided this fall/winter season I was going to update my wardrobe and these items caught my eye. Can you notice the color scheme that I am drawn to???
