Well hey yall! Like HEYYYYY! It has been so darn long since I have written a blog post and I really apologize. My absence has been because of illness. For about 3 months I was sick as a dog. I have been in the ER and on bed rest and all that jazz but it seems that I am slowly but surely on the mend. so Whoo hoo!
No, I am not ready to divulge my diagnosis but when I am, please know many of you will be highly educated on it because it is not something that many know of.
It’s funny that when I announced my little break on instagram stories almost every single message I got was about mental health. Why do we always seem to go there? lol. If someone is sick and taking a break from social media, we have all been programmed to think it is a mental thing when it could very well be a physical ailment.
But no biggie because I truly appreciate how supportive everyone has been.
Yesterday, I put on an outfit that was comfy for me and slightly made me feel like my fave fashion duo The Yusufs and asked Jermaine to take some photos of me before work. But…..Jen did not have her groove back. I couldn’t really pose and I resorted to my “signature” stances because I just did not feel like me yet.
Did I rush it? Maybe. But blogging and photography, whether in front or behind the camera, bring me so much joy and regardless of my “incompetence” yesterday, I am happy to be back.
This post is solely a hey and a thank you to all of you who held me down since May. This post is for those who opened up about their own illnesses to me and allowed me to try to infuse some strength into their lives. This post is for my family who I could not have made it through without. My mom and sis flew out to see me and although it was probably my worst time healthwise, they stuck with me and did all they could. This post is without a doubt for my husband who has been my caregiver. There are NO words for you. You show me through action and words daily why we got married lol.
So I hope you all enjoy this post and the photos. It made me feel really good to deliver them!
You’re back!! Very nice post and outfit inspiration. Welcome back.

Thank you soooooooo much! I have written a ton of posts but haven’t been publishing. I will get on my horse!
Glad to hear you are feeling better day by day. When you are used to being able to do everything and be everywhere your health can sometimes tell you to slow down. Having a support system is awesome. Taking a break from social media can come from anything from not having the time, a ful time job, family, needing to do some self care, our health and emergencies. We need to let people take all the time they need for whatever reason it is that they took a break…. @applemacg

Thank you so much for reading and for commenting. I don’t know what I would do without my support system. I feel blessed
