Living in DC, one is afforded many luxuries. One being the Smithsonian collection of museums that are free to visit. One rainy Sunday afternoon, I finally relished in one of these luxuries. I put on my new frilly red dress from Zaful and headed over to the National Gallery of Art and fell in love with the Leo Villareal Light sculpture. This light sculpture is on the people mover that connects the East wing to the west wing and you really cannot miss it. Its beautiful. Its amazing! It is a work of art!
I met an uber talented photographer and my good friend, Brandon there and let him work his magic. I have gotten better about not directing much and just letting artists create. What he created was beyond beautiful in my opinion! I highly suggest working with him if you want something epic! Follow him on good old Instagram! What I love the most with working with him is that we are great at bouncing ideas off of each other. His vision was all about the light sculpture and I desperately wanted pictures in front of the black and white wall mural but I wanted myself to be teeny tiny. I’m excited that we both got a chance to have our visions come to life so beautifully!!!!
I don’t wear much red. I rarely wear red actually but I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone lately and experimenting with more colors is my teeny step towards it. I truly believe that this National Gallery of Art’s Light Sculpture paired so well with this dress. I realized that I will suffer through almost anything to get the perfect shot. I went back and forth on this people mover a million and 3 times. Because the installation does change in brightness and intensity, you have to capture the shot at just the right moment. Major props to Brandon for lugging all my stuff and his camera gear while snapping away on a moving platform. But everything was perfection!
From the installation we moved to the main hall and all the beautiful white galleries seemed perfect for the dress. So yup, shot there as well!
Thank you Brandon for the photoshoot and I cannot wait to shoot again!
