NYFW Recap, Guest Bloggers, Rochambeau and Farah Angsana.. oh my!

Hey all-

Because of work (as in the 9-5) responsibilities, I was unable to attend my Monday-Wednesday shows at Lincoln Center but luckily a blog reader came to my rescue. Not only was she excited to attend NYFW and  sit in some shows for me, she EVEN even snagged 2nd row at a show. All I asked of her was good notes, to have a great time and some pics if possible and she went above and beyond and I will forever be thankful!!! Please read her recap verbatim below and view her pics…. thank you  SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much again Glenys.
I am sure she will have a great recap on her blog as well so please make sure to check it out: Media and Stilettos
Tonight is the CapFABB 1 year anniversary shindig and I am pretty excited to see everyone in their cocktail attire. Huge congrats to Liz Fassbender and for holding strong to such a great group and for all that they do for the DC Blogger Community. I am still so honored to have been chosen to be on the leadership team along with them, so many thanks to the dynamic duo for that as well.
Bring it 2012, CapFABB is soooo ready for you!!!!!!

New York Fashion Week! With respect to London, Paris, Milan, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Berlin, and Cannes there is no other place to be than in New York City for fashion week.

I had the pleasure of filling in for Jennifer, blogger of , on Wednesday and enjoyed every minute of it. The fashion, the people, and the energy in the air was that of all things fashion and it was something that I will never forget.

The two shows that I attended were that of Rochambeau and Farah Angsana. Rochambeau presented more of a showing than an actual show of their Fall 2012 line. It was held in the studio at Lincoln Center and once I entered, my eyes were drawn to the sleek, straight lines of the collection.
The color palate for Rochambeau settled on black, grey, and maroon with hints of white to balance out the collection. It was a creative display of fashion that proves that one does not have to stay within the confines of what they believe the rules of fashion to be, because in all truthfulness there are no rules when it comes to fashion.
The second part of my day I went to the Farah Angsana show and when I say absolutely gorgeous, please believe me! Everything thing from start to finish was flawless and fabulous!
Colors from ivory, black, blue, scarlet red, tangerine, emerald green, and violet flowed effortlessly down the runway on dresses and gowns that any die hard fashionista would want to add to her wardrobe. The rich embellishments of ruching, lace, crystal, and sequins added that something special that only a Farah Angsana collection could provide.

Sheer confidence, sophistication, and sex appeal were the only words that came to my mind by the end of the show. As a woman sitting in the crowd among bloggers, media, and celebrities I felt inspired by the high glamour and luxury presented on the runway.
By the end of the day the thought of being tired from all the excitement turned into being empowered by the creative ideas that came to life on the runway. New York Fashion Week gives life to women and men who have an unconditional love for what fashion is and what it stands for. This very thought leads me to recall a quote by the legendary Coco Chanel that is so befitting for what fashion is. There is no better way to put it, just believe that it’s true.

Fashion is not something that exists in dress only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.
