Perfection

Strive for progress. Not perfection!

So just like this graphic t-shirt from Tees in the Trap states: F*@! Perfect!

For most of my life I thought perfection was the way to go through life. I was the girl who did not like to be criticized and I sure as heck never wanted anyone to be disappointed in me. If I made a mistake, I immediately began my routine of unhealthily chastising myself. I, Jennifer Jean-Pierre wanted to be perfect in all aspects and felt if I was not then love would either be taken away from me or it would not come.

Yup- I had issues.

Thank goodness for the trials and tribulations from 2014 that catapulted me into major introspection and therapy. I rarely deal with the demons that haunted me for nearly 3 decades and when they do rear their ugly heads, I am able to very calmly and in a very healthy manner deal with them. It is really a lovely thing.

But it’s not perfection.

And I never, ever want to strive for perfection again.

Making mistakes, stumbling, and choosing wrong not only makes life more interesting but it is the only way to grow as a person. I can only imagine the road I would still be on if it were not for ALL the mistakes and poor choices that I made. And trust me- I have made them all. Before anyone goes out here and purposely makes mistakes and chooses incorrectly, I am not advising to be a sociopath. Just do not beat yourself up over it but do not by any means make a habit of repeating.

But do repeat after me- f*ck perfect and perfection. Strive to just be the best person you can be and strive for your own happiness. That’s it. Easy peasy!

Staying with the F Perfect theme, I chose to do no editing or post processing of these photos. I did no color correction and added no filters. These are all straight from camera shots and well I find them to be perfection in their own quirky ways. This was extremely hard for me because post processing is my absolute favorite thing to do!

Thank you. I rarely wear colors but learning to. Yes that wasn’t my idea at all for the pathway railing but it turned out super awesome. Thank you for the comment!
