Printed Dresses and Vantan Tokyo

Hey all,
As promised here is my recap/pics of Day2 of my New York Fashion Week adventure. After my pretty horrible Friday (just was in a mood), I woke up pretty excited to conquer Lincoln Center for the 2nd time around. I cannot say that I was responsible for my change in attitude because well I wasn’t. I have my wonderful boyfriend and my friend/blogger mentor Monroe of Fashion Steele NY to credit for it. They both helped renew my excitement, so million thanks for that! I didnt have any shows on Saturday and was just going for the street style pics and to accompany Monroe. The day started off in a positive note when I bumped into Claire from Fashion Bomb Daily as I was walking up to the tents. She seemed to be in a hurry so I tried not to chat too long but I was pretty happy to have at least introduced myself to her, I know to her it was pretty much nothing and she probably doesnt even remember but since she is an inspiration to me, I will forever be happy for that chance encounter. Unlike many others, I didnt go to FW to be photographed. It just isn’t my thing to stand around outside waiting for a photographer to notice me and/or my outfit etc… I guess its called “peacocking“… yeah Im not a bird so well yeah no, not for me. I actually walked around the perimeter of LC and headed straight to the doors as to avoid all the hoopla. Maybe that was wrong of me but hey its how I felt. I wanted to be at NYFW for the event itself and NOT for attention or my own publicity. Please understand, I dont think there is ANYTHING wrong with those that do, it just wasnt my thang! I got inside and pretty much hung out and took pics with Monroe all day and then Brittany (my new friend from the previous day shows) arrived and was going to Vantan Tokyo. I decided to try my hand at getting a standing room ticket and several of the DC bloggers who also came to NYC followed my lead and did the same. Still cracking up at Katherine of La Petite Marmoset giving my name to the Fashion GPS lady as if anyone knows who I am (lol). It was kind of cool however to see how many DC’rs took over NYFW! Shout out to us “politicos”!!!! The Vantan Tokyo show (from what I could see in the back of standing room) was A.MA.ZING…. I did my best to snap pics but just couldnt get them to come out really well. (sigh) but you can see the ones I have below. After the show I hung out a little and chatted with one of my fave stylists ever (Erica) and then headed Downtown to meet Monroe for din din at Cafeteria. Where do I begin about those Mac and Cheese spring rolls?!?!? YUM!!! Overall it was a great day and I am glad that I went. Im definitely still very bummed I wasnt able to stay the rest of the week since the majority of my invites were Mon-Wed but content with the experience that I did have and 110% looking forward to September 🙂

(huge thanks to Glenys for sitting in on my remaining shows for me.. she even snagged 2nd row at a show and I cant wait to see her pics!!!!)
please excuse the pic quality as I had to use my iphone for alot of it… (sorry)

my absofave outfit I saw ALL FW (why? bc its so me)

fellow DC’r and my “boss” at CapFABB, Liz- she is a co-founder

Good post and you are honest. Makes sense now as to why I did not see any pictures of you in any of the online media. Good for you!

I actually love watching the people get photographed outside of Lincoln Center :). It also warmed my heart seeing all the bloggers in the first row :). yay bloggers! Glad you ended up having a good time, and be sure to let me know if you get to make the jewelry holder :).
