Real Housewives of Potomac Season 2 Premiere Party

Let’s start this with some honesty. I don’t really like reality shows. There are a few that I watch regularly but I am not a fan of most of them. But one of my guilty pleasures is the Real Housewives of Potomac and last night I was pretty geeked to have been invited by cast member, Robyn Dixon to their season 2 premiere party at Bliss Nightclub. Yup- this is all about the Real Housewives of Potomac Season 2 premiere party and you will love it !

For those reading who are not familiar with this show, it is part of the Bravo line up for real housewives of “name the city”. It is a show that follows the glamorous lives of women in affluent cities in the USA. Think Beverly Hills, NYC, Dallas and of course Potomac, MD. Never heard of Potomac? Well here is a little background….  In 2013, CNNMoney.com listed Potomac as the most affluent town in all the United States based on median household income.[1] Potomac is also the seventh most top-educated American small town according to Forbes.[2] Bloomberg Businessweek labeled Potomac as the twenty-ninth richest zip code in the United States in 2011, stating that it had the largest population of any U.S. town with a median income of more than $240,000.[3 (c/o Wikipedia)

The cast members compose of

  • Gizelle Bryant.
  • Ashley Darby.
  • Robyn Dixon.
  • Karen Huger.
  • Charrisse Jackson-Jordan.
  • Katie Rost.
  • Monique Samuels.

I met Robyn about a year ago at a TAA PR event in DC and then covered her stylist’s wig launch party last year. The Real Housewives of Potomac season 2 premiere party was incredible. J and I arrived to Bliss a little earlier than expected and waited in the car for Maggy Francois, so we could all walk in together. I said earlier that I was going to be honest. And honest I shall be. I definitely was giving the area the side eye and the judgmental stare. I am not trying to be the bougie gal but that part of NE is NOT my cup of tea in any way, shape, or form!

From the outside, Bliss looks pretty regular. Almost warehouse like. But the inside is a whole ‘nother monster. It is BEAUTIFUL. Rich mahogany wood lines the walls and plush leather seats are abundant. Each room has a different vibe but they all play with the theme of elegance!  When I first moved to DC, my frequent club goer punch card was stamped thrice weekly. Being an extroverted introvert, it became far too much for me and when I moved from VA to DC, I stopped going as much. I became far more into dining out. But last night, I was a club goer again and it was not too bad.

Video below is from my insta-story from getting ready to being at the event.

But enough of that. The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 2 premiere party was the place to be last night. Every type of media was present from entertainment to political and all of the black community glitterrati was present. The guest list was definitely the who’s who of DC. Elite creation by Thrisha supplied the decor desserts. I call them decor desserts because they were breathtakingly beautiful centerpieces with a mix of flowers and white chocolate covered strawberries. I am not a lover of this type of fruit but the ones she made were INCREDIBLE! I will be referring her to anyone having an event. So amazing.

Before playing the premiere on all the big screens, the cast of ladies came out to their table dancing to Bad and Bougie and they all seemed to be so happy celebrating the season as well as Robyn’s birthday. I met a few other cast members and found them to be incredibly charming, down to earth and very sweet. Karen was the biggest surprise to me. She was friendly and even cracked jokes about her walking boot. We sat with Ashley’s family the whole night and I have never met a more open, welcoming and warm bunch. Her aunt and mom’s pride for niece and daughter respectively radiated from their facial expressions. I had met Charisse briefly before at Fig & Olive in City Center and had a blast taking pics with her that night. I did not get to interact with her much last night though. I have a special place in my heart for Robyn and think that she is the most like me but Charisse is just bomb! I loved watching a scene in the season 2 premiere involving hoverboards and her daughter. She is so dope! Overall, it was nice to see the “reality” of the Real Housewives of Potomac!

Season 2 looks drama filled and full of fun. Tune in with me this Sunday, April 2 at 9pm and let’s tweet together about all the fabulousness that you will see!
