Its been 5 months since I started Rent the Runway Unlimited and sometimes I wonder how I went without it. In all transparency, I am in partnership with them to spread the word about this service but only for Instagram and honestly I think my partnership is over. This post is something extra because I really like the service and wanted to share with my community.
In my 5 months of spreading the word about it, I have had 5 people sign up and also rave about it. If you want more information about Rent the Runway Unlimited, please do read this post, as this is just a “how-to” use the service.
How to use the service
- Log in to rent the runway online or download the handy dandy app (I prefer the app so this will be for the app)
- Hit the Shop button at the bottom of the page
- Towards the middle top of the page, hit size to filter out sizes. I do this first because I hate falling in love with an item and finding out it is NOT made for my thick self.
- Where it says available for: hit Rent the Runway unlimited. If you need something ASAP, then you could hit the date you needed but since we are trying to build our closet, we can go with Unlimited
- Then start browsing.
- When sometimes strikes your fancy, hit the heart near the upper right-hand corner of the item to add it to your wish list. *Tip- make several wishlists and label them accordingly. Like dresses, formal attire, for shooting, etc
- Once you have completed this to your liking, go ahead and hit your wish list and pick out the items you want to rent. You are allowed 4 at home at a time so choose wisely.
- Stick what you want in your “bag” and have it shipped to you.
I will say that shipping is unbelievably fast. Most of the items come from the NJ area so to get to DC is like nothing. I have returned something on a Monday and received new items that I chose by Thursday. This is the benefit of always having your wish list updated. As soon as you return one thing or all the items you have at home, your slots open back up.

Wearing a Tanya Taylor dress from my Rent the Runway Unlimited closet. Please note these are iPhone 7 photos so not the same quality that you would expect from me but hey sometimes it’s all you have. I got this dress in a size 16 and its pretty big on me. I would definitely get a 14 if I were to rent this again. It was large in the bust, waist, and thigh area. For comparison here are my measurements: bust- 36D, waist: 36-38 inches, hips: 44.5inches at the widest part.
