Well good evening y’all- it’s 8:54pm on Wednesday and I was going to post these pictures of styling a harness belt on Instagram. But then I realized it’s been a while since I wrote a blog post. So here I am writing that blog post.
To be perfectly honest, I am still fighting my own mind when it comes to blog writing. I don’t write as much because if it’s not a tutorial or informative or a great SEO post, I feel as if it’s unnecessary. But I started my blog as a journal of sorts and I refuse to allow it to change because I am trying to run with the masses.
So let me tell y’all a bit about today. Jermaine, Teagan and I woke up late. It was nearly 8:30am and I looked straight at my phone to see my schedule for the day. I realized it was the 3rd and we had a funeral to attend. Yeah. I almost forgot. That’s how hectic my mind has been lately.
We got ourselves ready and made it out of the house by 10:15 and went to the viewing. I have a hard time with death. I realize it’s a part of life but after having Teagan I’m far more sensitive to it. My biggest fear lately has been something happening to me and leaving her. Every night, she doesn’t go to sleep until she can be near me to stroke my arm as her comfort. I always think of what happens if I’m not around.
Motherhood. It changes you.
After the viewing, I realized I only had two work calls and was ahead on some other projects so we ran some errands. IKEA was number one on the list. I’m in the process of becoming a minimalist (a moderate minimalist) and redoing my dressing room/ cloffice/ shooting room. My best friend Elle came by and helped me figure out what to get and I went for the IKEA Alex cabinet drawers but they were sold out. I looked online. They are sold out EVERYWHERE.
So I’m going to have to hold off a bit on the re-org. But we did get some other great items such as new night stands for our bedroom, a dope wall art for the dressing room, and other Knick knacks.
The highlight of today was spending so much quality time with Jermaine and Teagan. While we are home together nearly 24-7, it’s not the same because we are working or tidying or taking care of Teags or watching TV or on our phones. Today we just ran errands as a family and it felt really good. Also, for the first time ever, we let Teagan walk around in a store. Typically one of us is holding her, she’s in her stroller, a cart or we are carrying her.
Let me tell y’all. Teagan went buck wild. It was like she tasted freedom and someone wound her up and let her go. Cause go she did. Teagan took off with the happiest smile on her face.
That was joy.
It was also my cardio of the day cause her legs may be tiny but they sure are fast.
When we got home, I caught up on all the work I had to complete, we ate leftovers from the meal I cooked the night before (yessss ME!), watched some 9-1-1 and I opened up my mystery box packages from Universal Standard.
The mystery box campaign is always a favorite and I’m excited they asked me again. I had a BLAST last year doing it. I did not get quite as amazing pieces as the year prior but what I got is super high quality and awesome nonetheless.
So look for that campaign on my Instagram soon.
Since we are chatting about fashion, let’s talk styling a harness belt.
I have always loved the look and it was not until I started seeing Sami Jefcoate’s videos on TikTok was I fully sure I wanted one. Because it is my first time owning one, I did not want to invest in a high-quality one so I went to a fast-fashion retailer to grab it.
Believe it or not, this harness belt and the dress are from SHEIN and both cost under 30 bucks together. This dress is REALLY comfy but a teeny bit thin. I’ll make sure to link it in the outfit details section.
Alright yall it’s 1:36am now and I need to go to sleep. I’m up this late thanks to the mid-afternoon Chai Tea Latte I consumed from Starbucks. I’m super sensitive to caffeine and knew better but they taste SO good!
Would you like styling a harness belt?
Thanks for reading and until next time!
