Weekend Things

Let’s be real. Weekends are made for lounging and resting but with our busy lifestyles, often our weekends are jam-packed with as much as a Monday morning in the office. Almost all of us have a full-time gig and a side hustle that may or may not blossom into a full-time gig. What we do not seem to have is time.

You are probably reading this and thinking “Oh, Jen is about to give us the low down on time management” and you would unequivocably be incorrect. Jen did that a few years ago and that time management post is still one of the most read.

This post right here is really about the weekend and my blogging style. Back in the day, my blog posts were a diary of my day. A beautiful mix of my thoughts, feelings, scheduled plans, and outfits. It was simple. Now we bloggers want SEO worthy headlines and “how to do this and that”. I love a good tutorial or inspirational piece but let’s be real— sometimes we have nothing to say and just have a cute outfit we want to showcase.

So here I am.

Nothing to say… CHECK

A cute outfit to showcase…. CHECK

Currently sitting on my couch with Teagan in her portable bassinet to my left. She is writhing around seeking attention and praying that her butt jiggles and little noises will get her picked up. Our baby loves to be held. We love to hold her too but not 24-7. Well no, we would hold her 24-7 but that is cray cray!

But back to my initial thought. I am currently sitting on the couching typing away on this Microsoft Surface and wondering what Tik Tok fun, Mikalah and I could get into today. Yesterday, she and I dazzled the shoppers at our local Aldi with our moves. Yup- dazzled. That’s the word.

Look at the video below. Are you not entertained?

She and I both really want to attempt a harder dance and involve the men in the family but we are being met with a bit of resilience. Not from J but from Kai actually. Still, shocked that the 9-year-old does not want to but hey, children always shock right?

So no TikTok for today. But please go right ahead and follow me along there. I’m an all-out ham and will be posting it all 🙂

My username is @jenjeanpierre like everything else!

Well- best-laid plans yall. I started writing this blog post around 12:20pm today and it is now 6:34pm and I am continuing. In the middle of typing, Teagan woke up and Jermaine was playing with her. It made me realize that if we are not holding her, there is nowhere that she can perch and just be with us without being in our arms. So I started putting together the Mickey Mouse rocker that her Gigi (mine and Claud’s mom) got her.

She loved it.

For an entire 3 minutes until the wails came.

So Mickey Mouse rocker will be tried out another day. And the day after that because in the end, I do want Teagan to not operate on fear. And to sit on that darn rocker.

The Weekend Outfit

Although I did not wear this over a weekend, it really is an easy and great mama weekend outfit. A few days ago, Jermaine went to storage and pulled out my jeans bag. In there was my go-to size 12 Universal Threads high rise straight leg jeans from Target. I loved them so much I bought the going out pair that were snugger and an everyday pair. With my pregnancy weight loss, I was excited to see the snug ones fit me well but to my dismay, they were pools of denim fabric around my waist, hips, thighs, and calves.

Instead of losing my cool, I styled them in a different way. A little 80s throwback peg leg of the pants and a roll down of the waist and I had cute boyfriend jeans.
