Brunch + Wine + a Birthday = a radically accepted perfect Sunday afternoon. A few of us headed over to Locust Point in Baltimore to celebrate fellow blogger Taliah of Fashion Was Here‘s birthday at the Wine Market Bistro. It was my first time in the area and I really like it. I see tons of restaurants that I am dying to try and awesome murals that I cannot wait to capture on camera. Although it was a really windy day, in between brunchin and gabbin, Teena and I headed to the courtyard area to get some outfit pictures. Seemed like an easy enough task but Mother Nature and her wind made it nearly impossible with my a-line midi skirt and Teena’s tulle skirt. We did the best we could and then darted back inside to enjoy our first course. I have found an appreciation for quality red wines and am looking forward to visiting a vineyard this upcoming weekend with some ladies. The Wine Market Bistro was a great dip into wine lover’s territory given that they have an over 800 bottle selection and 25 wines by the glass. Although I did not partake in a vino on Sunday, the Grapefruit Limoncello Mimosa was the absolute perfect complement to my 3 course meal.
Taliah gave us the opportunity to choose from a prix fixe menu and I decided on the Lobster & Squash Bisque which was certainly lacking in flavor and texture. It looked and tasted like a pureed Gerber delicacy. I was not impressed with it at all. The only thing that saved it was the bits of bacon in the sage cream sauce. Next was the fried egg burger that was amazing! Cooked to medium perfection with a tasty spicy chili mayo, I would without a doubt choose it again. Last but not least was dessert and if there is anything chocolate on the menu that is what I will get. The chocolate pave (chocolate with sea salt and caramel cake) did not disappoint! After posting a few pictures on my facebook page, a few friends gave me further recommendations on what to eat on my second trip to Wine Market Bistro. I intend on tasting The Duck One from the BLT menu and the fried oyster salad. All in all I enjoyed the restaurant, service and decor and will be returning!!!
