My affinity for menswear is still very much alive and well. Although I have done a better job of incorporating more feminine pieces in my wardrobe, I still don’t always feel like myself in just a frilly dress and heels. But I am trying.
As I was preparing myself for work the other day, I was leaning towards more tailored pieces in my closet. The weather had cooled down a bit and I was feeling my hair (for once) so I wanted to be a little more crisp. My Ann Taylor pants in this beautiful eggplant color are the perfect accomplice to a white button down. While they are still business like, they lend a fun color that make my personal style shine through! It is menswear with a feminine twist.
After throwing on the pants and shirt, I still felt so basic. While I believe everyone should own several white button down shirts, I also know they can be a teeny bit boring. You have to look at them as a blank canvas that needs the addition of your special touch. I wasn’t in the mood for a statement necklace but found that a loosened bow tie worked wonders to complete my look.
This fall, along with an abundance of leather jackets, I hope to incorporate more ties in my clothing style. I found an old post of mine from 4 years ago where I rocked the heck out of a tie, cardigan and wide leg pants and I cannot wait to recreate that stunner. There is just something about ladies in menswear that gives me the happy chills. Like Esther Quek who I just simply adore. She has been adding more feminine pieces to her looks but still holds on to her love of menswear!
So talk to me yall… what are going to be your go to looks for this Fall?
