Confession.
I lived in these Schutz Julianna Nude Heels in New York. So much so that by the 3rd day, I couldn’t walk.
Confession #2…. I loved this dress when I first got it from the thrift store (Savers in Owings Mills) but once I headed out of the house with it on, I did not feel very “me”. Mind you, this was a very conservative dress when I saw it on the rack. It had a white panel completely covering up the chest area. I saw past that and loved the floral design and colors and got it. I still love this dress but I did not feel it that day. Ask Monroe, it took so much for me to “pose” for pics.
My style comes straight from my personality and my feelings on that day. I have never and will never consider myself a fashion person. I don’t DO fashion, I Am My Style hahaha. That was my best Coco Chanel remix of her famous quote. I really do not follow designers. I don’t know much about the trend forecasts because it does not matter to me. What matters to me is self expression and individuality. Because those two things will never, ever be out of style. Ever.
So rock whatever it is you want as long as it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Because trust me, when you do, you will be strutting like you own the catwalk of life and have everyone stating “Naomi who?”. And really, no haute couture dress looks better than a person being unapologetic about their personal art aka clothes!
As I briefly touched on my previous post, I have delved myself deeper and deeper into photography and well directing a shoot. Every single outfit that I own, I can tell you what type of location or feel I would want the shoot to have or be. I think it helps liven the clothes. This aprticular dress felt so stepford wives to me that I wanted an urban jungle feel. Although I didn’t quite captuure that I want to share my vision anyway. I would have loved to shoot this in a really urban environment. When I think of it, I immediately picture some fo the neighborhoods in West Baltimore near the Marc Station. An area with boarded up homes that are more than likely crack or trap houses. I honestly would have worn this shooting craps with the residents. That is the feel I would have loved for this shoot. But… well…. my annoyance and unhappiness in that outfit caused me to JUST SHOOT IT. I have to truly thank Monroe for putting up with me while doing this. I know I was a gumpy gus until we made it to Paradou (my fave French spot in the Meatpacking District) for champagne cocktails and steak and eggs!
Oh and I am starting to book for blogger/outfit post photos! Anyone in the area (DC and Baltimore) want to shoot let me know!

Gurrl! You are straight trippin’ lol! I guess we’re our worst critics, but I love everything about you and this amazing dress. It’s uber chic, and exudes class, in a playful energetic way! I love how you accentuated your waistline by adding the belt, which was an amazing color choice. Looking forward to see more from you. Hugs

I love this dress! You remixed it well to make it current. But everything is timeless. I actually like the city backdrop. The street is a bit gritty and it balances out your soft, feminine look. That’s how I interpreted it. lol My faves are the street shot and the shot against the door – love that angle and the editing.
Love those nude heels! Im debating getting them in black or nude..Such a tough choice.

Well you nailed it. I am the same with with what I wear, it’s by mood and also for me it’s comfort. I think that’s because im older now. lol. This dress is a beauty! Love how you styled it!
I think you look amazing as always but I understand that sometimes we all have those days. Do you think maybe it’s the sleeves? I’ve noticed that for me unless my sleeves are fitted, I am usually not a big fan of them and have them removed. That usually leaves me with wide shoulder straps which I find flattering to my slightly broad shoulders.
Definitely one of my fave looks. What a great dress! I’ve been meaning to stop by to tell you that. Loving the design!
thank you Stania!!!!
I love how in the first picture the woman is staring at you. You can see her amazement. She felt your presence. In my opinion you look amazing!! Heck even I feel your presence through my cells’ screen. Would you consider having the sleeves removed? It looks great either way.
oh wow this is probably the best comment ever. THANK YOU!!!! I appreciate this so much and you just literally brought a smile to my face!
Shutz really makes some amazing heels! This look is absolutely gorgeous on you girl!
