I am starting to believe this is the perfect dress for me.
and any moto style jacket is the jacket for me. But I digress- this is about the dress.
On Saturday, I hosted the launch of the black female owned company- Sole Savers in DC and since I would be wearing a pair of their rollable flats, I knew I needed the right style of dress to camouflage my stocky legs. I live in heels or wide leg pants lately because it works best for me. With the extreme circle of the skirt, I am able to create an hourglass figure and take some attention off of my Barry Sanders legs!
While waiting for the event to start, I asked my good friend Teena to shoot a few snaps for me outside of the venue. I already had an idea for what I wanted and I am happy that we were able to capture it. I am all about content creation right now. I just do not want the same old same old. I own a blog and write on a blog but I do not consider myself a blogger anymore. I know I am not spitting out the same old outfit posts that we all have fallen into habit of offering brands. I am here for more. I want to shoot more editorial. I want to capture motion and emotion. I want to step out of EVERY comfort zone and create striking imagery while staying true to who I am. Because that will always be the most important thing to me- being me and staying me!
I do not have a totally dedicated photographer because like I said previously, I have been a one woman show for so long that it is hard to let go. But I am trying. I hired an intern and a DC creative directing assistant and I am slowly giving up some control. But this is my baby. Even when my friends shoot me, I make sure to set the controls and tell them where to stand and how to compose the shot etc. I have to learn to let go but I am starting to see it is more about a vision. So I am truly thankful for everyone who shoots me but special thanks goes to Teena for always putting up with my “just one more” “can you angle it this way” “get me while I am walking like this but avoid this and that” lol!
I have tons and tons of ideas but at times I lack the resources or energy to bring them to life.
For this particular shoot, I wanted to showcase the cushioning in the Sole Savers rollable flats. I am a proud owner of many a pair of Dr. Scholls Fast Flats and immediately thought these were the same. While the concept is- the product quality on the Sole Savers is greatly superior!
I never felt like I was literally walking on the ground and honestly the cushioning is very good! I jumped around in the street for a solid 10 minutes and felt supported. That to me is a winner!
Granted these are not meant for every day long term wear, they are the PERFECT flats to throw in your clutch before a night on the town or place in your purse during fashion week!

Wow, yes. The perfect dress for those perfect legs!
Lol thank you!!!!
I’m always so happy whenever you pop up in my Bloglovin’ feed. You know I’ve been a Comme Coco stan from the beginning and it is amazing to see you contiguously evolve. We’re moving back to South Florida this summer and I have ideas for my blog that will take it in a different direction. I needed to read this post to motivate me to go forward with my plans. Wish me luck. Now I just have to figure out which camera to invest in.
Love the ballet shots,
Cloclo 🙂
